Invitation to Public Participation Forum in Nakuru

The National Land Commission, CLAN! and Ogiek Peoples’ Development Program invites members of the public, communities, and state and non-state actors to a public participation forum on two draft regulations that will shape how land injustices are handled in Kenya:

• The draft Investigation of Historical Land Injustices Regulations, 2026 will set out how claims arising from displacement and dispossession between 1895 and the promulgation of the Constitution in August 2010 are lodged, heard and resolved.
• The draft Review of Grants and Dispositions of Public Land Regulations, 2026 will guide NLC as it reviews public land titles issued before 2010 to recover land that was illegally or irregularly allocated.

These will directly affect indigenous peoples and local communities who have waited decades for justice which is why our voices must be heard before the regulations are finalized.

The forum takes place on 6th October 2026 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the ACK Guest House and Conference Centre, Nakuru.
